Please see below frequently asked questions

I’m travelling up the night before and would like to come to the pre-event networking reception at Nova Scotia, do I need to pre-register?

No, please just turn up, the reception on Sunday is open to all event attendees

What do I need to bring to access the event?

Due to the senior level of this year’s conference speakers we will be performing additional security checks before attendees enter the venue on Monday and Tuesday. To speed up the registration process and keep delays to a minimum, we will be circulating an e-ticket with a QR code to everyone via email 7 days before the event. We ask that you have this ready to present to the security team on arrival at the venue. Alternatively, a QR code will be available to show through the event app or you can bring a copy of your booking confirmation with you on the day.

The e-ticket will also state where you need to go to register and you’ll be able to scan the QR code for fast track badge collection.

Where do I register and at what time?

All registration desks will be open from 8:00am on both event days and will be open throughout the event. Please enter through the Exhibition Centre, Liverpool (above). We will also be opening between 18:00 and 19:30 on Sunday 7 September for early bird badge collection available to anyone who wants to pick up their badges early and beat the queues on the day.

Those registered for the full event, including Housing in Practice will need to head to the self service desks in the purple registration area to print their badge and collect their lanyard before heading inside.

Those registered for Housing in Practice only will need to head to self service desks in the teal registration area to print their badge and collect a lanyard before heading into the exhibition

All speakers need to head to the orange Speaker registration desks. Exhibitors should go to the red Exhibitor registration area along the Atrium by Hall B.

Is there a cloakroom?

The cloakroom will be open:

Mon 8 Sept: 07:00 - 19:30

Tues 9 Sept: 07:30 - 16:30

Will a Prayer Room and Quiet Room be available to use?

Yes, the prayer room will be located in room 18 and the quiet room in room 19 above the Exhibition. You can access them using the escalators in front of the registration desks.

Is a press room available available?

Yes, a room for press to work is located in room 20 above the Exhibition. You can access it using the escalators in front of the registration desks.

Are any private meeting spaces available?

There are lots of spaces around the venue where you'll be able to do work or have a meeting. Private meeting space at the venue is available but limited and needs to be requested in advance, please speak to someone on the Helpdesk at the venue and they will assist you.

How can I ask questions to speakers during a live session?

  • We will have microphones in the audience for all live sessions
  • You can also ask questions through the event app. On each session page, you need to click ‘Add session’ to see the Live Q&A functionality on the app. You can also upvote other delegates questions to ensure the most popular ones are put to our speakers.

Do I need to pre-book sessions?

No, for most of the sessions however we do ask that you pre-register for the following sessions.

  • Off-site visits on day one to Torus (currently full) and on day two to Regenda/Thrive (please email events@housing.org.uk)
  • Fundraiser and Motown Evening (currently full)

You can create your own personalised agenda by registering for sessions on the app. This can then be viewed through ‘My event’.

Please note, adding sessions to your personal agenda on the event app does not reserve or guarantee a place in the session. If there is limited availability in the room, places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. To avoid disappointment, we recommend you arrive promptly at the session room.

Will I have access to speakers PowerPoint after the event?

Yes, a PDF of the presentations will be added to each session's page in the event app post event.

Why is my badge being scanned when I go into sessions?

By scanning badges for each session, it helps us to understand which topics and speakers our delegates are engaging with, to help us plan for future events. If the session is sponsored, your name, job title and organisation will be shared with the sponsoring organisation. View event privacy policy here.

Is there access to power to charge my devices?

Yes, there are various charging points around the exhibition. You are also welcome to leave your device with the events team to be charged at the helpdesk. Please remember not to overload any power sockets and we cannot be held responsible for any loss, theft or damage to personal items.

Where do I find catering?

If you have paid to attend The Housing Community Summit (Housing in Focus), you will find delegate catering in the delegate lounge in the left back corner of the exhibition. Please be ready to display your delegate badge to the catering team and inform them if you have requested any specific dietary requirements. Designated “Allergy Champions” wear green aprons and are on hand to offer expert knowledge on dietary requirements.

If you are attending Housing in Practice you will find paid for catering points around the exhibition where you can purchase catering. You'll be offered the option of paper or digital receipts at the point of purchase should you need to claim this cost back from your employer.

I have concerns given protests at other housing events. How are the CIH/NHF mitigating any risks at the event?

We recognise these concerns and the ACC have stringent measures in place and are in touch with local authorities to keep all attendees and visitors safe. All attendees need to adhere to the NHF’s code of conduct.

If you have any concerns please email events@housing.org.uk
