PlaceShapers, the national network of place-based, community-focused housing organisations are delighted to be returning to this year’s Housing Community Summit. They will be hosting a drinks reception on Tuesday 8 September, from 5.30pm-7pm. The reception is primarily for existing members of the network but organisations who would be interested in joining PlaceShapers would be very welcome to attend. Members of the board and the team and will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. The PlaceShapers drinks reception has been really well attended over recent year and offers a great opportunity to network with like-minded housing professionals from all over the country. Commonhold will mean a fundamental shift in how homes are developed, governed, funded and managed over the long term. Come and discuss:

  • How greater consumer empowerment could transform property ownership in England and Wales.

13:10-14:00 Professionalisation of Complaints Handling roundtable discussion

Through collaboration between the NHF Customer Experience and Housing Management national group and PfP Thrive, this round table will explore the growing case for professionalising complaints handling in social housing. As landlords respond to the Housing Ombudsman’s Complaint Handling Code, the session will consider how recognised standards, accredited learning and stronger professional development can support fairer outcomes for residents, improve accountability and build a positive complaints culture. Attendees will also hear about the new City & Guilds Assured Professionalisation Pathway for Complaints Handling, designed to strengthen the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to deliver effective, resident-centred complaint management.

Inclusive leadership does not happen by accident. It requires visible commitment, practical action, accountability and the confidence to challenge existing cultures, behaviours and systems. Join us for this panel session to explore the role of leadership and allyship in driving meaningful progress on equality, diversity and inclusion across housing associations, examining why inclusive leadership matters now, what good practice looks like, and how organisations can move from commitment to sustained action.
